By
carrying out this investigation it allowed me to target a main audience for the
school magazine as from the results I can see that the sixth forms in the
school were most interested in buying the school magazine. It would mean that
the contents of the magazine would be more suited to the older school therefore
more things such as university and exam tips would be more necessary.
In
this question I had a feeling that more females would reply to the link as our
school is mostly female student populated. I was surprised to say the least
when more than one boy replied and he gave me wonderful feedback into his
interests of a school magazine being published.
I
was personally very surprised that anybody wanted a school magazine as its more
of a thing associated with the adults. When the results for yes were coming
through it made me think of how a school magazine would have a positive effect
on the school community and too let everyone in the school be aware of what’s
happening in the school.
When
thinking of including this question in my questionnaire I thought that more
people would have chosen to pay less than £1. This question surprised me the
most. By the cost of the magazine being £1 it would make more people buy it as
it isn’t dear and would attract more custom.
I thought that the people answering this
questionnaire being young that they would have all went for sweets to be
included free in the magazine. When I rethought of the reviews on this question
by including competitions it would also attract more custom and competition and
the prizes would be a lot better than just getting a packet of sweet or a
stationary set.
This question was quite predictable and you know that
with the students answering the questionnaire that they would have mostly
wanted to see students presented in the magazine. If you’re on a sports team or
included in a club in the school you would also be under the “Award Winners”
section which very closely followed the winning feature.
This
question was to see how interested the students of the school were when it came
to how often they would be willing to pay or read a magazine in school. I
thought that it would be at the end of a large school event as it wouldn’t be
too often and it would be less for them to pay, but they seemed to be very
interested in it as most of the people who answered this questionnaire would
like to see an issue of the magazine on a monthly basis.
As
the most people who answered this questionnaire were either sixth form or Key
Stage 4 they thought that exams tips would be a great help to them. As if it
were the younger school they don’t have any public examinations so therefore
they would be less interested in having exam tips taking up some of the school magazine.
