task 3 contents page

Contents page

The very clever use of the blue and white colour scheme indicates straight away that the colour of the uniform is most likely to be blue and white. The smart use of the school crest allows the reader to immediately see what school the magazine is aimed to focus or it is based on. Although this contents page is very compact it’ also lie out very carefully and very tidy so it’ easy to point things out and to easily find out were the contents of the magazine are placed.

The use of the large bold mast head allows the reader to clearly distinguish what section of the magazine in which they are reading. As the main part of each section is placed in bigger bold blue writing it makes the reader clearly pin point out what page each section begins at and what page it finishes at or which page the next part starts at.

The use of the separate column with the start page numbers create an easy following format which this designer has aimed to follow and by doing this the writer doesn’t have to search for the page and that it’s all done for them so all they have to do is to follow the page number on the side column and follow it on from there. The picture graphics used are all placed neatly underneath each other with the page number which they are featured in on the bottom left hand corner of the page.

The articles mentioned on the contents page all seem to be relevant to students and the help they may need and the struggles they may have or face in school the pictures featured on the contents page also seem to relate to the stories in the magazine contents. Furthermore regarding colour of the uniform seen in these pictures there is a huge relevance with the colour scheme of the magazine contents page.

However, the font chosen for the smaller print in the black font is not easily deciphered- although it defiantly is in keeping with the same style of the rest of the page only is smaller font size and different more serious colour of black. The plain straight edges of the font make it seem like it’s trying to get a point across straight away and it’s a serious matter.

This is then further established by the rest of the layout of the page as its all tidy and all set out to scale and very much to perfection. You can quickly establish this by layout that everything is so perfect. All the images are all the same size and the same amount apart which shows a sign of professionalism created within the magazine itself. By the titles of the sections of the magazine you can tell straight away that the magazine isn’t for the teachers, staff of parents of children of the school but its for the pupils themselves, as it has guides to how to over come having problems in different subjects of the school.
