Q contents analysis

The use of the colour scheme of red, black and white is continued through to the masthead of the contents page so its clear to see that this is the correct follow up of the front cover. The use of the coloured bubbles with a distinguished colour scheme makes it easy for the reader to navigate through the contents page of the magazine.

The use of the images placed beside the page numbers allow the reader to see what the story or feature that is on this particular page. The images will also familiarize others with the people or artist that is featured. The use of the cover lines underneath all of the images gives the reader more of a clear insight into the actual contents of the story to follow. The way the contents page is laid out it begins at the top with the first pages on the top of the page, leading to the last pages on the bottom.

The use of the “Q” review it is a catchy phrase and easily remembered. The broad black boarder that surrounds it makes it easily distinguished. By giving this extra information this will make the reader get more facts and information which is exactly what they looking to get by purchasing the magazine in the first place.

The readers eyes are straight away drawn the main image of Noel Gallagher  on the top third of the contents page, you can tell this image is the main image as it’s the largest picture overlapping with the mast head. This also allows the reader to see that this image is following from the front cover to again show who the main focus of this magazine issue is. This image is taken from eye- level and this also brings the personal part of the magazine right through to the contents page of the magazine.

The use of the bold font in this page allows the reader to clearly make out the writing without any difficulty. The use of the large writing to sell the story by having the name of the person in much larger writing in comparison to the rest of the writing underneath draws the reader’s attention and this will allow them to know what the story is going to be about.

I also think that the choice of  layout for this contents page is very suitable and gives great information into what the contents of the magazine are. I feel that this magazine is one in which I could use to inspire me for my own magazine.
